The 4th edition of the spanish Vans Shop Riot went down last Saturday, September 14th in Seville featuring an unbeatable, crazy atmosphere. Plaza de Armas’skatepark was the elected place for the 14 stores to battle it out for the money and the opportunity to pass to the European finals in Leeds, UK on the 12th and 13th of October.
The raffle decided the pairings returning sick battles between teams like Griptape and Antidot or Impact and Insane. The semifinals could not have been tighter leaving out great teams such as Tekekas with the explosive Carlos Neira, Griptape with Jorge Calderon busting each module or Afrostyle with Diver Miyazato, a young 9 year old ripper who left everyone with their mouths open!
In between the riots, Sevilla’s public had a blast as giveaways were thrown out left and right and Vans style waffles were baked on and on.
The final consisted of individual rounds of 6 minutes for each team. Sevilla’s finest Blow did their very best as did Insane from Murcia, showcasing a truly complete team with Adrian Garcia landing Bs Smiths at max speed down the rail! Alicante´s Picnic, winner of the second edition of the Vans Shop Riot did not disappoint us either; Franini, Ruben and company destroyed the park, quite literally.
Indeed it was Streetlife, featuring intimidating names like Ignacio Morata or Symeon Jamal, to get its hands on the final prize and gain a ticket to the European finals, leaving behind 4 broken boards courtesy of Syme as well as the whole park shaking!
